Notepad++ Auto Complete is a Hidden Gem

Have you ever put on a jacket, or some other piece of clothing that you haven’t worn in a long time only to find that you’ve left 5, 10, or 20 dollars in the pocket? I love that feeling. It’s like a getting a surprise gift from someone. Well, I got that feeling recently from NotePad++.
Like many others I use the amazing Notepad++ for just about everything, scripting, HTML, CSS etc. I have been using it for years and because it’s free I never imagined that there would be auto complete code hints in it’s functionality. I was a little stuck with some syntax a while back and I was thinking wouldn’t it be great if I had a commercial editor with auto-complete to remind me how to phrase this. I started looking around and in minutes I had found it under ‘preferences -> Auto-Completion’.
So for all you Notepad++ users out there who have been in the dark out there, rejoice and come to the light! There’s auto-complete for NotePad++.
